I devote this post to all girls who believe they love their boyfriend so deeply that they could bare anything, I dovete it to Lyd , with who we have recently discussed the need for surprizes in a relationship, and I also devote it to everyone who loves the film “White Oleander” or the flower appreciators.

How much do we need surprizes in a relationship? Can’t really say? Yeah, sure it’s a difficult question to answer, for it has two possible understandings - do we need bad surprizes or do we need good ones? Then many people would say they’d prefer the good surprizes. However those who are smart and like to use their brain(such as Lyd) would ask - What do you mean? What is a good surprize and what is a bad surprize? How can we differ them? Aren’t they the same - surprizes?!Good questions! Yeah, i agree with you, however I’m one of those who would not be able to answer this question at all! :( I have a tenet not to define what’s good and what’s bad. I have been persuaded in that principle during many many years while watching all kinds of people and situations one could meet. However once I broke that tenet, and that brought me a lot of unpleasant feelings!  I fall in love. You know what’ s the beginning like - flowers and fairy tales, everything’s perfect, a new harmony surrounds your heart, you feel useful and you find sense in everything you do, untill….

until you meet the reality! The reality is full of reasons, and acts followed by their consequenses. You should always be aware of anything, you should always use your brain and never allow the emotions and feelings lead you! The best relationships are based on a whole lot of efforts by the both mates, that’s true! And what about the surprizes? Two days ago, it was after our course, when my ex-boyfriend surprized me in a very unpleasant way. He was on a party, he was drunk, so he gave his mobile phone to some other drunks to shit whith me. However I’m not so blonde! It took me just 15 minutes to find out who are those drunks and who appears to have caused this. I put all of them four in their places and they didnt try to shit with me again! However the surprize was very unpleasant. I didn’t expect my ex-boyfriend to do such a thing, I believed he is a nice friend, I even was starting to sorry that I broke up with him. So such a bad surprize shows how I made a mistake while ignoring one of my own rules! How much do we need such surprizes? Do we need such bad surprizes at all?! And what about the good surprizes - do we need them? Can you generally say we need surprizes? Hmm, some may think I’m speaking like a relativist, but good and bad are always soo close to each other that as soon as you believe you have distinguished them, they replace right at the tmoment! I thought it is different with love, unfortunately it is not! You should accept the strong and the weak points of your mate, because they can mix anytime! Really, ANYTIME! You should be aware and thinking, not led by emotions and feelings. Try to follow this advice, and you’ll see how easier life could be!

I’ve started to read the book about SAT2: World History and I found out something very interesting about it. The authors of the book want to make you think as a historician. They give you some evidences, and a list of events, you should just choose the correct event according to the evidences. They rely on making you think as a historician. There are also many facts, but a small part of these facts is presented in a lesson, the other thing is analyzing these facts. That is a way to start understanding History, not only learning facts. It is very different from the Bulgarian educational system, where facts are listed one after another and you should just train your memory and nothing more! Some historitians in Bulgaria have made presentations and lectures about historical events(for example about King Kaloyan’s corespondation with Pope Inocentie 3), and after reading them I’ve realized the events are actually not so boring!!! The same event I initially believed aren’t worth studying. So what’s the difference between a sweet hamster and an ugly mouse? - the way each of them is presented!  :P  This book is written in English, which makes it a little more difficult for me to read it, and it is about History(the subject I believed I hate) and still I find it interesting! :)  Geez, this is something like making first steps - very difficult, but very exciting too! :P I hope I succed taking my SAT2:World History exam, or at least learn something about history :P

UK colleges are not the same as the USA colleges. UK colleges are a form of education that is a step foreward than a high-school education. If you want to prepare for a future career in the UK you should rely on a University! Universities in UK are known to prepare their students for their future career very well. Unlike the Liberal Arts Colleges, in a UK Universitie you start preparing for a specific career just from the beginning of your education there.

  • It is a fact that UK educational system, especially the English one, is known in the world as one of the best!
  • It is a fact that about 93% of students graduated in the UK are able to find a job straight after they graduate(the statistic is from a magazine about studying abroad), which is a bigger number, compared to the Liberal Arts Colleges
  • It is a fact that in teh UK higher education is cheaper, and you can take a loan for your education taxes and a loan for your cost of living. The both loans are united in a one , and they do not demand you to repay the loan untill you graduate and untill you get a sellary over 15,000 Pounds. Then you pay just 9% of your sellary, and if again you ae recieving less than  15,000 the repayment stops untill you fidn a better job. For more information see this  and this
  • Another fact is that the Applyment in a UK college or a university is more difficult, and the SAT exams are not available there, but lately there was a reform about attracting more foreign students :P
  • It is a fact that the best UK universities prepare students for a primary sellary of at least 15,000 Pounds, which is not so much in an expensive country as England, for example, however this is the lowest sellary the best colleges prepare you for getting.
  • It is a fact that UK is not as rich country as the USA, but the cost of living there is also not as higher as in  the USA —>>  See this statistic
  • There aren’t Liberal Arts Colleges in the UK
  • It is a fact that the UK is a very prospering country too, and their querry is the most expenssive in Europe and in the World, and such a prospering country relies on a specific career education.

The USA and the UK are two different countries, with very different points of view about higher education. Both of them have their weak and strong points. It is just a matter of comparing the lifestyle in these two countries in order to deside which kind of education is better for you. And another fact that should be considered is which country would be more pleasant for you to live in. Quite confusing, isn’t it  :(

This is a very confusing movie, because it cointains many ideas which are not constructed into a plan and presented with a relation between one another - it’s just that some people speak in a chaotic way. However these people are not so stupid, and if you put your mind into their words you can understand one or two ideas, which are actually very interesting…

One of this ideas is that everything in the Universe is related. This has been spoken for many years and many scientists(physicists and others) have been trying to prove that. It is starting to turn into a new religion. Why is everything in the Universe related? , well I’ll try to explain how I myself understand this concept. Everything you think leads to some specific action. Every action you take leads to some specific consequence. This consequence then is turning into a circumstance. When many people create different circumstances, a web of circumstances is created and we live in this web :)

For example You think you are very good at Mathematics. That leads to an action - you start studying that science. Then that leads to a circumstance - you go to an olympiad and beat someone who also believes is good at Maths. Then that leads the consequence - one of the two people either starts to believe he is not good enough and starts to study some other sciense, or he or she motivates and becomes a better matematician. These are two possible ways. So here is how one circumstance brings another two circumstances. Then they bring more and more circumstances after them, which are related and we all live in this web with the ability to ctahnge it. So in short - everything you think, you act, you believe is a part of this web we all live in :) This is how you are related to practically… everything :P

And how can we change this web of circumstances? Well every circumstance brings two or more others with it - you just have to deside which way to go and your desision is a part of this unity of everything :) This is how bad and good thoughts are realised :) Have you heard the saying “Life is just like a mirror - if you smile to it, it will smile to you too” - truly :)

As you know I’m a little sick right now and I have a low voice so I couldn’t speak anything I’d like. Here’s what I’ve learnt from Lyd:

I learnt that we often follow rules without thinking, and that we often are too lazy even for the smallest things. I was shown how really important is to use your brain in everything you do. One just has to think a little deeper before doing something as a robot without even knowing why. There are many useful things that are very simple but we are so lazy and so afraid of teh change that we hardly cope even with these small things - like writing two essays for example. I also learnt to believe in myself. This is something I’ve mostly learnt from Lyd’s classes and it is one of the most useful things I’v ever learnt!!!! Well, I have always believed that I can acheive much but only if I almost sacrifice. Lyd showed me that even some of the best jobs I can think of are very reachable if you just try to work a little hard for acheiving your goals. It is not impossible to go to Harvard and to have a wonderful job and a wonderful life - you just have to be braver, to try and to be persistant and to believe in yourself. I also learnt how important is to read and write - to communicate. Since I’ve started Cooledge classes I’ve met many people from other countries and cultures and some of them were even creating their own campaignes. I have never believed a person could lead a succesful campaigne, an ordinary person I mean - but I just see it with my eyes!! So this is what I’ve learnt since the beginning of Cooledge - that everything is possible if you just try to do it and put your mind in it but also learn how to have fun  :)   Of course I have learnt some words and I’ve got used to making readings, but believeing in myself is the best thing I’ve learnt. I’m not sayng that just to praise Lyd or to try to make a good impression - I never try to do that and it is the thing I most hate! I’m really grateful about the things I have learnt since October and now I can’t make up my mind of any notes or recomendations - just keep doing what you believe is right - it is definately helpful!

Lately I have only studied for a great number of exams and I didn’t spend any time on finishing the book I’ve become to read a week ago. The latest lesson( on Tuesday) was teh one that really made me realise something - teh lack of time. I have always been living with the idea that I have enough time for everything but now  as a make a list of what I have learned about studying in Cooledge classes it will include the ability to learn fast and understand what you’ve learned, the ability of gaining soft skills, the high need of beeing a persistant student, learning how to write and how to search the internet. In short - learning how to read a lot, search ofr a lot of information, doinmg a lot of useful things and gainign a permanent knowledge. I think this is called “learning how to learn” I realised that this is a skill that I don’t have and I could obtain but only for a long time. And as I see myself I don’t think I could have enough time. I suddenly felt pressed and confused - I don’t want to feel that way when I go to college, and now I’m determined to obtain the ability of studying properly. The latest Cooledge classes have made me think over education’s characteristics, and when it is a useful and succesful educatin. I was made to think over the point of character needed to survive in a fast developping country as teh USA, and I was also made to think over the meaning of a real hard studying that really brings skills which combinated to teh soft skills could make a person a wonderful worker. The problem is that I don’t kno how could I succed in doing that. I don’t have the needed characteristics to be a godo college student and that worries me a lot, actually  :(

This lesson today was very very interesting! :)  We had to imagine we must find a job at 18(i don’t liek picturing the idea my parents are dead) and we had to do on our owns. It is sooo interesting. I want to be independent but this is really the first time in my life I really think over this question! And as I picture sooo many opportunities, and soooo many jobs and sooo many oaths to take and kinds of a person I could become and the idea of being independent. Wow, I will really make a nice research and I’ll write my project for next Tuesday! Now so many ideas run through my head that I almost can’t write anything sensful :)

jim_carrey_caricature2.jpg A Phrenology lesson  —->>> Since ancient times there are many studies that we nowadays don’t know. What is interesting is that our mind subliminal knows them! For example - there is a strict chemistry low about which people attract us and which people distract us. In fact our mind is just like programmed to know an ocultic knowledge called Phrenology which teaches what kind of character you have accordin to your face. This skill we use subliminal, when you don’t like the appearance you don’t like the person at first time, right?! :) See the link above :P

I’ll write one post for all of the test because they’re all the same. I think it is useful to practise grammer and reading comprehansion, however that “reading”-s are a little boring, because when I read the end I’ve forgotten the beginning. Shouldn’t they be more about a real-life-situation than raw facts about some sphere of sciense and full of sciense terminology :( For example some people talk for smth. and then we should answer questions about their topic, their conversation, facts that are mentioned about their clothes hairstyle etc. I think the real point of TOEFEL is to see whether we could survive in American society, not whether we will understand all about the protozoans, umbra and penumbra or some political topics. :P

It was a little surprising because I thought my homework was very easy but I was made to think over things wich I didn’t even think about at home. It was useful because we all saw what mistakes we had with our homeworks.
